As a sign of our continued goal to expand in Asia, we are pleased to announce the opening of a new Gexpro office in Seoul, South Korea, with a hearty “Annyong Haseyo”.

Gexpro opens Korea Branch to pursue Korean EPC Overseas Building Boom

Gexpro is establishing itself in Korea to better serve these firms in Korea as well as local support for their global projects, including Middle East and Southeast Asia.

For our future Korean clients, Gexpro will be able to Rexel’s International Projects Group (IPG) to leverage supply globally sourced electrical materials and services to the world’s premier engineering, construction, and project management companies. IPG provides a global execution in the infrastructure of oil and gas, Mining, Chemical, for projects based around the world.
In addition, we procure excellent sourcing strategies for the EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction)/Client, and long-term strategies for our Korean counterparts.

Green energy, sustainable development and Gexpro

The Korean government has launched very aggressive development and incentive programs to promote green buildings, LED lighting, Wind power and solar energy. We at Gexpro see this as both a sales opportunity to bring our expertise in these areas from Europe and North America as well as a sourcing opportunity to bring new technology to the global markets we operate.

The Light Emitting Diode (LED) lighting development in Korea is a target business area of Korean government and a hotbed of innovation with hundreds of companies developing and manufacturing LED products.

Wind Energy is at an early stage in Korea but many large companies are announcing large efforts and investments to move Korea into a leading role in Wind Energy development, particularly offshore wind.  Solar energy is progressing well with funding for green building design and similar investment support as LED technology by Korean government.

The Korean branch operation joins our Asia network of operating branches in Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, India, Malaysia and China and reinforces Gexpro’s commitment to grow in Asia
